    Story

Background to the Performers' Fund initiative:

The Covid-19 lockdown left many artists without any income due to closed venues and cancelled performances. The Club had to get creative and think of new ways we could support the Arts and continue to deliver performances.

In March 2020 we launched 'Virtual Fridays' - weekly happenings that people could enjoy from the comfort of their homes. Our incredible production team worked hard to deliver exciting new virtual offers to both our members and the Public. Since then we have produced over 40 weekly online events. And it was all made possible through this Justgiving page. In addition to Virtual Fridays, we also put together a virtual Fringe programme in 2020, supporting over 30 artists through online shows which were filmed at the Club in August 2020. This is something we'd like to continue in 2021, and you can take part in supporting the Arts!

    *** UPDATE JULY 2021 ****

The Virtual Fridays series will be part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2021! Meet our stellar line-up!

First out is an evening of traditional folk music with Euan Mclaughlin (fiddle, guitar) and Nicky Kirk (guitar) - a foot stomping event in collaboration with our friends at Live Music Now Scotland. Or how about some Jazz standards from the Great American Songbook and more: singer Jessie Bates and Haftor Medbøe on guitar delivers an intimate concert filmed in the art studio in our Clubhouse. On the last week of the Fringe we give you a recital with outstanding young Russian pianist Nikita Lukinov. Nikita plays a short recital of Beethoven, Debussy and Scriabin at the Scottish Arts Club.

Please make a donation to support our performers. The money raised will be used to:
-Offer payment to support each artist during these difficult times as well as provide a platform for artists to perform to an extensive audience which has been a rare opportunity throughout the past year
    -Cover production costs
-Give each performer a complimentary, high res video to take away and use on their websites or social media in the future
