Our thoughts are with all those families, and communities, who are being directly affected by the catastrophic bushfires and the sustained drought that have affected Australia at the Start of 2020.

As a Scout in England I wanted to find ways to help Scouts and their families in New South Wales that have been impacted by the catastrophic bushfires and the sustained drought which has devastated so many communities. so i wroteto scouts in Australia and this is how they said I could help.

The campaign I have started which is Scout Ollie’s Bushfire Appeal (SOBA UK) aims to give UK scouts and their families the opportunity to assist Scouting families impacted by bushfires or drought in Australia by donating to the NSW Family Support Fund, which helps young people facing hardship to attend their local Scout group. I am using social media channels to raise awareness and seek contributions to this appeal which will help scouts affected to continue to attend meetings and leaders continue to volunteer and lead Scout troops In these difficult times.

I will ensure every penny reaches the NSW Scouts Family Support Fund which is a fund designed by Scouts to be used for Scouts. I am an Assistant Patrol Leader at 6th Tonbridge Scouts.

This fund will be open until 14 February 2020 when I will be doing my final shout out on social media for this collection and sending the money to NSW Scouts. Thank you for your support. This will also help me with my Global challenge badge.
