Story
As a response to the call to arms for our NHS workers SCRUBBERS UNITED was set up in our front rooms, on the dining tables and lounge floors. It is a group of volunteers sitting alone at sewing machines, cutting patterns, delivering scrubs and rolls of material to try and "do our bit".
We are all ages and abilities and some are shielding form COVID 19 themselves but we ALL feel the need to support our NHS in this time of crisis. The idea came from one incredible women - Chrissie who we all know and trust and has energy and passion by the bucket load but she can't do this alone. We are pulling together and getting to know our community as we do it!
As I write we have spent our donations on appropriate rolls of material and thread and over the last few weeks provided scrubs, headbands and scrub bags to our local Pembury Hospital and doctors surgeries.
However, we need further funds to buy more materials and any helpers to put these vital items together. We believe it costs around £15-20 per set depending on size.
If you think you could spare a penny or two or give some time to our cause we would love to hear from you. Thank you for finding us and hope to hear from you soon.
