    Story

In 2005 I suffered a life changing injury playing the sport I love leaving me with a permanent disability. An impact injury during a tackle in a football match left me with a broken and dislocated neck, completely paralysed and facing the rest of my life in a wheelchair…

9 months later I was out of a wheelchair and fighting to regain fitness to give myself an opportunity to live the best life I could.

The ups and downs following such a life changing event cannot be put into words but in 2008 my life and my outlook on life changed for ever! It was my first involvement in disability football as a coach that gave me a different outlook on everything… Wanting to give people similar to myself (disabled but passionate about football) football opportunities became a passion and being successful became an obsession!

Fast forward to 2014 after several years in-between of amazing experiences!

The vision was to start providing football opportunities for people with cerebral palsy regardless of their age, ability, disability or sex, something that had never been done before!

Cerebral Palsy United FC was born and after two years of existence, winning countless trophies, developing several England CP International players and coaches, supporting many media stories with our players (See George Shaw, Everton FC Goal of the Month), having contact with over 100 players (boys and girls) we are in a position to take the club to somewhere it has never been before…. Europe!

Our adult team, which is entirely self-funded, has the opportunity to travel to Barcelona to compete in the International European CP Football Trophy essentially the Champions League of CP Football. To support this opportunity we are taking part in a gruelling 10 hour spin competition between two teams.

So on Saturday 11th March, CP United players and staff will get on their bike at 9am will not stop spinning until 7pm!

Please support us with any donations, anything helps!!
