Imagine a place where children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can play, learn, and thrive. For 26 years, InterActive has been that haven for families, offering weekend and holiday activities, as well as an inclusive pre-school play session. This charity has created countless memories and friendships, empowering children and supporting families.

From the moment my son Elijah was born in 2015, his battles began. He was taken from my wife's arms, placed on oxygen, and plunged into a world of hospital visits for lung issues and brain monitoring. As his father, I had dreams of playing football and going on adventures. When we learned he had Cerebral Palsy, those dreams felt shattered. They said he might never walk, and despair set in.

Then, just before his third birthday, he surprised us all. With incredible determination, he took his first steps, each one a testament to his resilience. Now, communicating with Makaton, his smile brightens even the darkest days. Elijah embodies love and perseverance, reminding us that anything is possible with hope and support, like that of InterActive.

However, this vital service is now at risk. Due to reduced funding and rising costs, we face a heart breaking reality: With over £5000 already raised, without raising a further £25,000, InterActive Whitby will close its doors in December. This would not only end a beloved community resource but also deprive our children of the safe, supportive environment they deserve.
