Story

29th July I will be taking part in a bicycle ride. This ride is more than double the distance I have ever travelled in one day and is going to be the biggest achievement to date so please sponsor me. Information below. Feel free to ask me any questions

The ride to Bridlington Harbour from Dewsbury Ambulance Station is about 76 miles depending on which route we go. Last year nearly £3500 was raised from this great day out. Whether you are a beginner to the joys of cycling or have miles under your saddle come along for the ride! It’s not a race and there will be someone close by to help you reach your personal goal to the harbour side.

The aim of Dewsbury Ambulance Charities is to provide holidays and outings for local children and indeed adults who wouldn’t normally be able to enjoy a break by the seaside due to their illness, disability or other special needs.

The charities chalet at South Shore Bridlington is also available for use by patients of the Rosewood Centre which is in the grounds of Dewsbury District Hospital and is an annex of Kirkwood Hospice.

Although our aim is to provide holidays we like to support other charities and organisations and have donated to national and local charities.

These include…

• Leukaemia Research

• Guide Dogs for the blind

• Mencap Batley

• M.S. society, and

• Downs syndrome

We also donate annually to the Handicapped Children’s Pilgrimage Trust
