We all wanted to do something to challenge ourselves physically in 2017 and help raise funds for our chosen charities which are Singing for Lung Health (TCH) and Addington School's After School Club.

Singing for Lung Health is a weekly singing group that runs in Maidenhead and is open to anyone with chronic lung disease to teach better breathing. Addington After School Club are a small friendly group which meets every weekday from 3.15 until 6.00 pm for Addington pupils.

At the time, a sprint triathlon sounded a good idea with the group consisting of a swimmer, cyclist and runner. Yet, once we had signed up we realised the task we faced will be hard. By the time the event arrives, we would have all been training for 4-5 months.

We will be taking part in the Nuffield Heath Eton Sprint Triathlon at Dorney Lake on Saturday 20th May 2017. It consists of a 750m open water swim followed by a 21.2km cycle and then finishing with a 5km run. None of us have ever attempted a race like this before (and maybe will never again afterwards).

So if you can spare any money to donate to our chosen causes, we know they will be eternally grateful. These two incredible causes need raised funds to operate and they are of immense benefit to those who access them each week.
