Story

I am running in the Great North Run for 9th time and this time it is for a good cause! Over the last year I have seen how music can be a real escape for children and how it can provide motivation and enjoyment, opening up a whole new world of experience for them.

Not all children can access the 1 on 1 tuition needed to make rapid progress in their chosen instrument due to funding constraints. I have decided to do something about this and hope to raise £300 pounds towards providing a course of lessons to disadvantages students at my school, Oakgrove, in Milton Keynes.

Together with funding from the local council and the generosity of music teachers willing to work at minimum wage this money should allow 5 students to have a term of professional music lessons which will enable them reach a standard where they can progress independently.

Having worked one on one with these students myself I am very commited to giving them the same access to this life enhancing experince as their more fortunate peers. Please help me do this.
