I am raising funds to create a community water well on behalf of my late grandfather Mohammed Riaz. Over the recent years, he has been battling with cancer. On the 18th June, my late grandfather had returned to his Lord. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (Arabic: إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ‎) “We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return." May Allah grant him the highest rank of junnah al Firdous. Ameen. Thumma Ameen.

In his loving memory, I will like to create a community water well as a form of sadaqah jariyah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: sadaqah jaariyah (ongoing charity, e.g. a waqf or endowment), beneficial knowledge (which he has left behind), or a righteous child who will pray for him." (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no 1376).

This community water well organised by Muslimhands provides access to clean water which can transform the lives of a whole community. Community water wells can serve more than 1,000 people. They are often located in arid areas where water is particularly scarce.
