Story

On 16th September 2018 I will be running my first ever half marathon at the Great East Run and I would love to take the opportunity to raise funds for Setter Brittany Pointer Rescue Asturias (SeBPRA). They raise money to help rehome unwanted/abandoned dogs from Spain to the UK. 100% of all money raised is used to benefit the dogs. For every 1 dog helped out of a shelter, a 2nd dog is given a another chance.

In April this year we adopted Arlo and Asia who were helped by fundraising through SeBRA after living a difficult life on the streets of Spain. Over the past few months we have seen them slowly become less frightened and more trusting of people and become a much loved part of our home. Any funds raised will be used to help give this opportunity to other dogs in need by paying for for vet bills, shelter fees and transport costs for other dogs in need.

My first half marathon will be very poignant as it will be one-year anniversary since our first Spanish rescue dog Mila went missing after managing to open the front door. We know that she ran 10 miles further than a half marathon to the Elmswell area where she was spotted a number of times. and that thought will help me keep going druing the race. Unfortunately we were never reunited but where ever she is we hope she is still running.
