Secondary Sisters was founded in 2019 by Nicky Newman and Laura Middleton Hughes to give Metastatic Breast Cancer a voice, to bring the secondary cancer community together and to change the perception of what living with cancer looks like. In 2022 Gemma Duff joined the team having been supported by Secondary Sisters since her diagnosis in 2019.

Since then Secondary Sisters has raised over £10,000 for secondary cancer charities supporting those living with cancer such as Future Dreams, Make Seconds Count, Trekstock and Little Lifts.

This fund is intended to allow the Secondary Sisters community to raise funds for things that will affect them directly, including:

* Events for those living with cancer;

* Research into secondary cancer (via donations to charities or research projects exploring secondary cancers); and

* Charities supporting people living with cancer.
