    Story

Seeds of Hope is fundraising for core running costs to help us sustain our community group. Your donation will be used to pay for a Zoom subscription, core running costs including group insurance, and will help us to print and redistribute updated flyers throughout GP Surgeries and community boards across Manchester. We are a non-profit organisation and your donation, big or small, will give us the lifeline we need to keep our service going.

Seeds of Hope is an eating disorder recovery peer support group for women 18 + in Manchester. We aim to fill the gap in services and offer women a safe place to talk about their recovery and find support from others who truly understand. Our mission is to support women who are committed to recovery, to share ideas and to offer hope.

Here's what our current members have to say about the group:

Attending Seeds of Hope group sessions has aided and informed my recovery so much. It is so important to discuss issues of recovery with others also in recovery. Before I started attending the group I had no outlet to talk about having anorexia, now I feel I have a healthy, safe, non-triggering space to learn from and speak in. Huge thanks to Seeds of Hope for all their support!

Seeds of Hope is so accepting and inclusive. Everybody is both supportive and honest. It is literally life-changing and inspiring to learn, support and share with people who can relate to my experiences as I've never had this before.

The motivation, advice and sharing the group brings can be remembered in difficult times to help me carry on through difficult feelings. I intentionally take what I have learnt and observed in sessions to make new, positive changes I would have never otherwise made because I hadnt even thought of them!! For me in this stage of my recovery, it is what is best for me.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, our support group currently meet online twice a month via Zoom. Our group is run by a small team of volunteers who all have lived experience of an eating disorder.

We believe full recovery from an eating disorder is possible, and your funding will help us to support others to achieve this.

Thank you in advance for your donation,

    Helen, Eleanor and Hannah

Thank you so, so much to everyone who’s donated or shared our fundraiser. We really appreciate it and it’s a massive relief to know we can keep going with our group and hopefully support more and more women to sustain their recovery. One of our volunteers this week contributed to the below article, which we hope will raise awareness and calls for change. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/guilt-anger-calls-change-triggered-20399733
