I've raised £1795 to Help towards LRTT Fellowship, a nonprofit charity that has projects in different countries and who want to support teachers around the globe

LRTT (Limited Resource Teacher Training) is a charitable organisation that has a number of projects taking place around the world. They and I believe that every child deserves a good teacher. They aim to inspire teachers around the world to share best practice so that skills can be practically used in the classroom, as well as promoting self-reflection and lifelong learning to empower teachers in their careers as well as promoting cultural openness.
I interviewed back in February 2018 for the Tanzania project because it’s the closest I'm going to get to Kenya, where Bapuji grew up. Having already had the opportunity to volunteer in India, (where Mum grew up) I know first hand how different the lives of the children out there were compared to my own. I recognised that their educational experience was very different from mine and no doubt the sacrifices that their families had to make were poles apart from my own. With this in mind, I can only imagine that there are amazing teachers in other countries trying their best to work in poorly resourced classrooms with large class sizes.
For most of my working life I have been a teacher and with that I have had the chance to attend professional courses and gain qualifications along the way, but besides the holidays we get (which most of you know is overtime for the extra post business hours spent working), there are two main reasons why I love being in this profession. Firstly, three teachers, full of fun and passionate about their subjects and most of all, they all gave up additional time to ensure that me and my peers could be the best that we could. And secondly, the students that I have and continue to have the privilege to teach. I learn new things everyday and still get a buzz from helping ensure that they can be the best they can be.
