Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page! We are a barristers' chambers based in central London, and we’ll be cycling 55 miles from London to Brighton to raise money for icandance.
Each week, icandance works with around 120 children and young people offering direct support for each dancer, their families, and professionals within the wider community. It’s a charity offering a pioneering interdisciplinary approach, drawing on dance movement psychotherapy, dance, and education techniques. It place disabled children and young people centre stage and challenges perceptions of disability through dance.
We choose to support icandance through not only personal connection, but also the belief that physical activity is at the forefront of quality of life – we want to help icandance offer all the children they work with the opportunity to explore their experience of being in the world through creative expression, skill development and nurturing relationships.
As a registered charity, a large proportion of icandance’s funding comes from the generosity of others. Any amount is always appreciated, and here are some examples of how your donation can make a real difference:
£15 covers 1 session of 1-1 specialist support for a disabled dancer
£50 covers a young person's 1 hour dance session
£100 covers a disabled dancer's opportunity to perform on a professional stage with costumes and professional support
We thank you for your donations and encourage you to spread the word and investigate the efforts which icandance put in towards improving the lives of so many families across London.
