Story
We are a not for profit organisation, and have one paid employee our other staff are volunteers. We have been running for just over a year and have out grown the property we are using. We have looked around and not been able to find premises that would be suitable, then we found this property that was once the lounge room to a public house. It is rundown and been vandalised but the size is great for us. We will teach daily living skills to people with learning/physical
difficulties, autism and mental health needs, this includes food preparation and cooking/baking, money management, community safety and health and well being. We hold a disco the first Saturday of each month that id free to people 18 years and over with learning/physical disabilities. Some of our service users completed a 15 mile sponsored walk and raised over £1000.00 to help our project move forward, they have thought of other fundraising ideas that we have planned in the future. We will be able to offer this building to the community for a youth club and families for birthday parties or family events, we are also going to offer a laundry service and a pop up cafe. The building needs new windows and doors a fire door fitting, disabled toilet facilities, kitchen and appliances electric supply and electrics, plumbing, heating painting and some tidying up out side. Our services users and the community will benefit from the building been refurbished.
