I've raised £500 to re-plant trees, protect trees and maintain fire breaks on Zomba Forest Plateau

Organised by Selena Gleadow Ware
Zomba forest plateau in Southern Malawi, is facing unprecedented rates of deforestation. It is an area of special interest but is being challenged by encroachment, illegal logging and uncontrolled fires. Over 30% of the forest has been lost in under ten years. Deforestation leads to silting of rivers and land erosion. Zomba plateau supplies 8 main rivers that supply water to the region, with over 80% of the population being dependent on subsistence farming. Help us to re-plant and protect the trees and water courses of Zomba Plateau.
