2020 has been a uniquely traumatic year for the entire world.

As we collectively hobble towards December, we are still surrounded by uncertainty and many people, particularly the old and vulnerable, face the prospect of spending the festive period entirely on their own.

Music has always had the power to soothe and comfort. In difficult times throughout history, people have come together to heal collectively as they listen to live music, or make music together.

Give Music has been created to support the vulnerable, provide work for musicians and donate to Shout 85258 - the free, confidential, 24/7 text message support service for anyone in the UK who is struggling to cope. We see this festive season as a unique opportunity to work together to harness the power of music for joy, connection and emotional wellbeing within our communities.

Throughout December, an incredible team of professional opera singers, currently prohibited from performing on operatic stages throughout the world, will travel around London to perform 15 minute doorstep concerts, of uplifting, life affirming a cappella carols to the elderly and vulnerable.

Give Music was created to give people the chance to send the unique gift of live music to their loved ones this Christmas. However, we want to extend the potential of our project and provide concerts for individuals and families who are not able to afford the concert fee of £100.

Can you help?

Please help us to raise £500 and send 5 joyous mini carol concerts to where they are needed most. Every donation, however small, is a huge step towards providing a soul soothing, socially distanced concert for a person in desperate need of connection.

Please do note that each singer will be paid a small fee for their time and talent. We have an unbelievable roster of incredibly gifted, high profile opera singers, committed to the project of spreading musical joy this festive season but we need your help to ensure that they can do it!

At the end of the festive season 25% of any money raised over our target £500 will be donated directly to Shout 85258. The remaining funding will be reinvested back into Give Music to ensure we can continue to run our projects.

Not only will your donation enrich lives in your community and support the performing arts, but each concert will ensure support for others experiencing urgent issues such as suicidal thoughts, abuse or assault, anxiety, loneliness, panic attacks, self harm and bullying.
