I've raised £1000 to Provide more opportunities for Autistic children in Wandsworth and Lambeth

Sen Talk was founded in 2015 by a group of parent carers raising children with autism spectrum disorders and other send living in Wandsworth. Parents and carers were struggling to find the right provisions and support for their children. There was a universal feeling of lack of support especially for children diagnosed with 'high functioning- autism' and behavioural conditions such as ADHD. It is felt that there is still little understanding around hidden conditions and what it means to a child to have a asd or adhd diagnosis and how this can impact on their quality of life.
Sen Talk decided that it would open a parent support group and offer parents support and advice around send. So far we have supported over 80 families within South West London access appropriate support for their families. We have taken 140 people on respite trips, hosted 24 coffee mornings, held 20 Sensory Integration sessions, run our unique Lego-based therapy programme for two years and supported 50 children develop social skills for life. As well as this, we have completed advocacy work for complex send cases across the borough and held the very first ADHD conference. We are very proud of our work, but we would like to see it continue...
Now an established non-for profit organisations works with children and young people to provide opportunities to develop social skills, resilience and other life skills that will carry on through life given them the same opportunities as other children.
However, we are a non-profit organisation that does not receive government funding for our work -we keep costs low as not to exclude those who may be in need but financially disadvantaged but, we are in need of essential funds to continue providing our young people programmes that offer development and opportunities . We would very much like to see the development of our send youth projects and we need your help.
