Story
Introduction into SERA
We are a voluntary residents association, and we used to meet once a month on the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm at the Stockwell Community Center to provide an open forum for residents to attend to discuss issues and concerns in connection with the management of the Studley Estate and resident welfare. SERA advocates residents’ issue with our housing association Hyde, along with the Local MP and Council.
These events provide everyone with the chance to bond, have greater social inclusion in their community and meet other residents on the estate.
As a consequence of the Covid-19 Pandemic, and the requirements of the government for us all to socially isolate, SERA have had to suspend our month meetings at the Stockwell Community Center until further notice.
SERA have subsequently increased its monthly meetings to weekly meetings and have stated to host them on Zoom.
This has proven challenging, but we have managed to resolve most of the technical difficulties by trial and error, although we are now restricted by time duration since we only have personal free to use zoom accounts.
SERA commenced holding Zoom Conference Committee Meetings weekly on the 07.04.2020, and we are pleased to announce that each week these on-line meetings are attracting more residents, as our community adjusts.
From now on SERA are offering weekly on line zoom social meetings, in association with other service providers in area, we will be hosting evening providing
o On-line Bingo Evenings
o On-Line Quiz Nights
o On-Line Well being Social Coffee Evenings
o On-Line Cookery Nights aimed at Fussy Eaters
o On-Line Art and Crafts Nights for Children & Parents
o On-Line Keep Fit Sessions for the less mobile & also for teenagers

We are trying to fun raise to launch a SERA Digital Portal a website that will sign posit all agencies who are providing support to our community, as well as providing a bulletin board of local information.
We also need funds to continue fun our on-line weekly zoom meetings bringing events into the homes our of local residents during these challenging times.
