Story
We're looking to raise £15,000 for Sevenoaks Swimming Club to fund the purchase of new swimming equipment for training and the hosting of swimming galas.
We are currently the top swimming club in Kent, regularly competing at County, Regional and National events, with some of our swimmers holding British records and competing in the Team GB Youth squad. However, we are a non-profit organisation, relying on fees, donations and fund-raising to run the club and pay for coaching, equipment, pool hire and various other fees. As such, we do not have the funds to invest in new or replacement equipment, such as diving blocks or timing equipment to host swim galas, much of which is in desperate need of updating.
These funds will be used to supply six new racing diving blocks to enable our swimmers to practice using the latest equipment that they will find themselves using when competing at County, Regional and National levels. The funds will also be used to purchase new/replacement timing equipment which is vital when hosting galas at our home location in Sevenoaks, as well as other equipment used for training and racing events.
Please help us where you can - any amount is much appreciated and will go to good use. We are also on the lookout for club partners and sponsors, so please drop us a line if you think you can assist or know someone who can.
Thank you,
The Sevenoaks Swimming Club Committee.
A little more about the club:
Sevenoaks Swimming Club was established over 100 years ago. In recent years the club has grown exponentially, introducing a new squad structure and doubling membership to over 500 members across all ages, covering multiple disciplines including Swimming, Water Polo, Synchro, Masters and Disability Swimming. We attend multiple local, regional and national swimming events, including hosting events at our home location in Sevenoaks Leisure Centre. We are heavily involved in the local community sports scene working with local schools.
We provide a competitive and non-competitive pathway to swimming, bringing communities together locally and nationally. We support local children in the pursuit of a sport via local schools, enabling them to forge lifelong friendships through sport and developing their self discipline, sportsmanship, team building and relationship building. We regularly host the annual Sevenoaks District Schools Gala, and we have close ties to many local schools where we help with coaching for swimming and water polo.
