Story

In September last year I went to volunteer for SFT Animal Sanctuary in Tangier, Morocco. It was something I had always dreamed of doing but I could not imagine how it would make me feel, the work they do there is incredible. I have decided to take part in DOG JOG 5K on Sunday 2nd September in Milton Keynes alongside my doggie Ralph. If you know me, you will know I am not a fan of running 10 metres, let alone 5k but for a charity so close to my heart, that I know needs all the donations they can get, I can't think of a better reason to put my dislikes aside & do it for the dogs, cats, donkeys etc.. that need it! Read below for a brief description into what SFT do!

SFT Animal Sanctuary in Tangier, Morocco is home to over 500 animals who have been rescued after being abandoned, abused, injured or sick. They continue to save animals everyday on the streets in Tangier as there are so so many strays out there.

They also have the HAYAT program which is where they TVNT (Treat, vaccinate, neuter & tag) more and more strays everyday to make them safe. The authorities in Tangier have always believed that the killing of strays through poisoning or shooting them has been the best way to deal with them. However, they are now supporting SFT's work and will not touch any stray that is tagged with the yellow tag which means they are safe.

There are still SO many more strays that need to be TVNT throughout Tangier and they can only do so much with no official funding. As of yet, SFT receive no government funding or funding from any large corporate companies and rely solely on the donations of generous individuals.

Every single amount helps towards saving more precious beings, PLEASE give what you can today to help SFT!!

You can see the work they do on their instagram page - https://www.instagram.com/animalsanctuary_tangier/
