Three Scarborough Teamgym gymnasts have been selected to represent Great Britain in the European Teamgym Championships which will take place in Odivelas, Portugal in October this year. This event is self funded and will cost the gymnasts approximately £900 each to attend. In addition to the cost of the competition there are 7 squad training camps throughout the UK which will require travel and accommodation meaning a very expensive few months for everyone involved. The gymnasts will also continue their regular training programme at SGA to ensure they are fully prepared for the upcoming challenge.

The last twelve months has been a huge commitment for the gymnasts, the coaches at SGA and the parents, the intense training and financial commitment has been difficult at times but everyone has pulled together to ensure the gymnasts could continue in their quest for GB selection. Now we have confirmation that the gymnasts have a place in the GB squad, we really need your help to support these gymnasts to get them to Portugal.

The Selected Gymnasts are: Megan Coates, Damien Walker & Joseph Fishburn. At the selection Competition Joseph Fishburn received Best Junior Boy on Floor and Damien Walker received Best Junior Boy on Tumble and 2nd place on Trampette.

Everyone at SGA is very proud of the gymnasts, its a great honour for the local gymnasts to be taking part in such an important international event.
