Story
How it all started
1985 marked the starting of this Masjid in Caldmore, Walsall. The elders of our community (May Allah grant them immense reward) purchased a rundown derelict factory. They got rid of the rubble, bricks, broken glass and rubbish themselves and after months of hard work Shah Jalal Jami Masjid took birth.
Since the beginning Shah Jalal Masjid has been a centre to its community for the daily five prayers, Friday prayers, evening Maktab - children's classes as well many other Islamic educational and social activities for men and women.
Over the years the building has had extensive renovation works, internal rooms combined to maximize the prayer area, side and upstairs spaces renovated to provide funeral, educational facilities and kitchen facilities. To meet the needs of our growing congregation it is no longer feasible or practical to continue to repair this old building but rather invest in a new state of the art purpose built Masjid.
New Build Project

We are intending Insha Allah to knock down the current building and build a new Masjid that can be an Islamic hub for the local community. The new Masjid over 2 floors will include an increased prayer area, up to date funeral facilities, modern classrooms, library, kitchen, office as well as wudu/wash facilities on both floors. There will also be separate ladies facilities as well as easy disabled access Insha Allah.
