Story

Myself & Barry are walking 5k a day throughout April to raise Awareness and much needed funds for Autism Northern Ireland. Autism NI is a local charity that supports families and provides services for the many children & adults affected Autism. Our youngest boy is one of the 30,000 people diagnosed with Autism in Northern Ireland. Autism is a sensory processing disorder where the brain is wired a little differently. Each person with Autism is unique and will face different life challenges but common issues include severe communication difficulties, repetitive behaviours, severe sensitivity to noises and smells etc, sleep problems and mental health issues. Those affected by Autism can become very isolated with little to no support and very stretched healthcare services provided. We are aiming to raise awareness & give our support to those who live with Autism every day.
