I've raised £500 to support the work of Shalom Life in Lurgan in honour of our compassionate and brave friend, Anita Firth.

In 2019, Anita came into contact with Shalom Life Centre in Lurgan when she was leading a programme with some migrant workers as part of her Freedom Acts role.
The centre captured Anita as a place of hope, somewhere that people were welcomed, supported and valued and she connected instantly with the leaders there and all the families and groups that used the centre. She knew it was somewhere special.
Anita had such a knack for getting to know people, taking time with people and supporting them without judgement. She was a solution seeker, a listener, and a brilliant advocate. She was especially passionate about opening doors for people who were facing closed doors in every direction and she saw how beautifully Shalom were doing that.
It was Anita's hope that she would be able to volunteer with Shalom in the future and she particularly looked forward to working with the team to support migrant families settle into the area and find community.
In Anita's honour and in lieu of flowers, the family would love to raise some money to support the work of Shalom so that they can continue to show love, compassion and help to those that need it.
