In april 2017, my good friend Jan received an injury to his ankle and achilles heel in a work related incident. He attended the doctors and was, to put it short, fobbed off by numerous GP’s telling him that it would heal over time. Jan complained about the severe pain he was in numerous times, but was again told there was nothing wrong. Fast forward a year, and he was finally referred to a speciallist who had found that there was in fact something seriously wrong. Jan had got something called PVD (Peripheral Vascular Disease) which affects the blood flow around the body. Unfortunately, this finding was much too late. There was no option other than to amputate the leg. He is now recovering in hospital, but the pain doesn’t end there. The remainder of the leg has now become infected, so the likelyhood of further amputation has drastically increased. Understandably, this has lead to depression and anxiety. He had lost his job, his mobility and his independence.

I am now trying to raise funds to put towards a prosthetic leg for Jan, making his life that little more bearable. He used to work for me and what a worker he was! Got some great memories with this chap, so please donate any amount, no matter how little - it all helps!
