Story

A MAN who is grieving the loss of his father has had precious memories stolen as his house was ransacked last night (Friday December 21).

Shane Powell, 31 of Staverton arrived home to celebrate Christmas with family last night to discover his house had been burgled.

Thieves stole various electronic items including a TV, Playstation 4 and a computer, as well as his late father's clothes and other belongings.

The cupboard containing the flowers from Mr Powell's father's funeral had also been ransacked, with the plaque having been thrown around and flower heads pulled off.

Mr Powell said: "This has made me very angry and emotional.

"I am still grieving from losing my father and for this to happen around Christmas is not fair."

Police are currently carrying out enquiries.
