Story

Jay Hellis was diagnosed with a grade 4 Glioblastoma brain tumour back in September 2021 at the young age of just 19 years old.

He underwent emergency surgery to remove it but sadly this wasn’t enough.

This led to him having to have radiotherapy,

& 19 months of chemotherapy to which this took a massive toll on not only his body but also on Jay as a person.

Jays odds of beating this was not on his side, we was told he only had 3% chance of surviving & our hearts was broken.

Nevertheless he fought with all he had and finally in march 2023 he was able to stop chemotherapy and had beat the odds. The tumour was gone and he could resume normal life with no more treatment.

It was the news we had all hoped & been praying so hard for.

Jay continued to be closely monitored at UCLH with regular Observations and MRI scans, but on the 17th June last year at the age of just 21, Jay was given the devastating results that the tumour is back & is growing rapidly.

Jay’s tumour is a GBM and is known to be the deadliest tumour of them all as it grows what they call tentacles & merges its self into the Brain & can no longer be operated on.

At that point, that is when our everlasting pain could never be healed.

Jays family have since raised money for him to have advanced treatment in Germany with the immunotherapy vaccines that could have potential saved Jays life.

Unfortunately the treatment wasn’t enough on its own and had to go on to seek further treatments. Jay’s mum Toni has found a skilled surgeon in Turkey that is able to operate and is able to remove at least 50-60% of the tumour & can also provide a treatment plan that they feel could destroy the rest to give Jay the best chance of beating this

This is amazing and gives Jay and his family hope. Especially after Doctors in the uk said that Jays tumour was inoperable

Jay is just 22 years old and has a young daughter. He should have the rest of his life ahead of him and be able to see his daughter grow up

I can't sit back and watch. I want to help.

So next month. On my Birthday. I am going to travel to the Lake District to climb the Infinity Bridge to raise money for the potentially life saving treatment that Jay needs

The Infinity Bridge is the longest high-wire bridge in Europe. It spans a deep gorge, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The bridge is approximately 190

meters long and situated 2,000 feet above the valley floor

This is such a crucial time for Jay and his family and time is running out

Thank you to every single person who has taken the time to read this or make a donation

My thoughts are with Jay and his family
