Story

My original plan was to donate my hair to the little princess trust, but due to COVID they aren't allowing donations. So instead I am going to run 100k in January for the RVI childrens cancer ward. This is all for one amazing little girl who is currently receiving treatment.

Her story, written by her mum: I am a 8year old little girl, in November 2020 I was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma which is a type of cancer. My journey started through lock down, I was getting really bad stomach pains mummy rang the GP and they booked us in for an ultrasound at Darlington Hospital. The day after my ultrasound I was called back into the hospital for further tests this is when we first found out I had a tumour on my left side 11.1cm by 9.5cm by 5.3cm on the same night was moved up to the RVI in Newcastle. More ultrasounds were done and other scans such as CT, I also had a biopsy done, although the biopsy came back with good cells there were still some bad, I was due to get the tumour removed on the 16th November but sadly my bone marrow test results had shown up some of the bad cells too. Then I started chemotherapy near enough straight away the chemo I have receiving is COJAC it is 8 courses of different chemotherapy every 10days the side effects have been difficult to do deal with, I have been admitted an emergency quite a few times now with infections, high temperatures, low temperatures, had countless platelet and blood transfusions to help to me, I get injections daily for my white blood cells between each treatment and I really don't like them. I lost 11% of my body weight and I am now on a feeding tube 15hours a day, as well as eating and drinking like normal. My journey is still very new and I have a long way to go until the end but me and my family are extremely grateful and thankful for the staff on Ward 4, Ward 14 and everyone else we have met along the way so far. They are such a fantastic loving team, I am one lucky girl to have them looking after me, they made Christmas day very special of me.
