I've raised £500 to support Y Bwthyn Newydd in memory of my wonderful husband Lindsay Griffiths and to thank the team for their outstanding care and support.

Lindsay was much loved and respected by all who knew him and battled courageously and without complaint following his diagnosis of kidney cancer in March 2017. Throughout his illness he always had a smile and joke for all that cared for him and the family would like to thank all the staff at Velindre Hospital, the Princess of Wales Hospital and Pencoed Medical Centre for everything they did to help Lindsay. In the last month Lindsay and the family were supported by the district nurses and the palliative care team at Y Bwthyn Newydd and we cannot thank them enough for all they did to get us through such a difficult time. Lindsay helped organise many sporting events to raise money for cancer and other charities so we would like to carry on his good work by raising much needed funds for the palliative care team so they can support even more families at what is often the worse time of their lives. It takes a special person to do that work and for the first time through Lindsay illness we felt there was someone fighting along side us to get everything that Lindsay needed to make his last weeks as pain free and comfortable as they could be. Their help at this time made such a difference to us and with your help even more families can benefit from the support of this amazing team of people. Thank you xx
