I'm raising £1000 to support the Sikh Military Foundation and honour Sikh soldiers of the World Wars

Organised by Sharanveer Hira

Story

Hi, my name is Sharanveer Singh Hira.

I am a serving Sikh soldier in the British Armed Forces and a proud volunteer with the Sikh Military Foundation.

On 7th March 2026, I will be running the Battersea Park Half Marathon dressed as a 1914 Sikh Soldier to honour the Sikh servicemen who fought in the First World War. Over 100,000 Sikh soldiers served on the frontlines in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Many never made it home, and their stories remain largely untold.

The Sikh Military Foundation works to preserve this history, support remembrance projects, educate communities, and ensure the bravery of Sikh soldiers is never forgotten.

Your support will help fund:

• Educational and remembrance projects

• Memorial events and exhibitions

• Outreach programmes sharing Sikh military history

• Work that supports serving Sikh soldiers today

Every mile I run is a tribute to the warriors who carried the Khalsa spirit into battle over 100 years ago.

Every donation helps keep their legacy alive.

Thank you for supporting this cause.
