Story

My name is Amelie Davies, I am 7 years old & I am raising money for the Royal Osteoporosis Society.

My great-grandma 👵Julia is 85 years old, has very bad osteoporosis & finds it very, very hard to walk & move.

The building that she lives in has no lift & because she lives in an upstairs flat, she has not been able to get downstairs and out into the fresh air for over 18 months.

In January, enough money was finally raised to have a new lift installed & I was excited that great-grandma would finally be able to get outside & although this will still happen, it has now been delayed because of the coronavirus.

My great-grandma never complains & always has a smile on her face but I worry lots that really, she must be very sad because she has not felt the rain 🌧, wind 🌬 or sunshine 🌞 or seen a sunflower 🌻 grow for over a year & a half.

When lockdown finally ends & the lift for her flat finally gets made, I would like to "share some sunshine" with my great-grandma and spread some hapiness by having a picnic with her in the shared garden that is just outside her flat, that she hasn't seen in such a long time.

I am busy growing small sunflower plants and making sunflower magnetic badges that I hope to sell together for £2 each that you could buy & give to someone you love to plant in their gardens and "share some sunshine" and happiness with them too.

My mummy & daddy will help me deliver the sunflowers and badges to your doorsteps. Or I will post badges and seeds you can plant yourselves at home.

My mummy, daddy and family will match the money I raise for the Royal Osteoporosis Society, so that I can buy a special picnic for my Great-Grandma 👵 to celebrate her finally being able to sit outside in the sunshine 🌞 for the first time in over 18 months & help her make some new happy memories, once lockdown has lifted.

Thank you for any donations that you make.

Love from Amelie xXx
