Story

My life long partner and the father of my darling boys has recently been diagnosed with something called MSA (multi system atrophy). Multiple system atrophy (MSA) which is a progressive neurological disorder that affects both adult men and women. It is caused by degeneration or atrophy (shrinking) of nerve cells in several (or multiple) areas of the brain. The results are devastating effects on multiple body functions such as speech, movement, balance and blood pressure control. (MSA Trust 2019).

After recently falling and breaking his collar bone, it has become clear that Peter needs the stabilty of three wheels. Cycling has been a big part his life for large number of years. And because of MSA, it has left him unable to walk more than a few metres. By having a trike it would enable Peter to maintain his independence and freedom to enjoy the one thing he can still do. As this disease has progressed it has become clear his balance now a safety factor for him whist traveling on the roads. The trike offers Peter a stable platform to participate in family walks as well cycle rides and independence. Please help me enjoy what time I have left with Peter to get out and about with him and our family and friends by helping my cause.

If I can raise enough money to purchase a recumbent trike I will pledge that Peter will use it for the time he has left and when not he is not able to ride we will sell the bike and give all the proceeds to the MSA trust. Trike bikes are quite expensive machines but the sale and residual value will mean that there will be considerable proceeds donated to the MSA trust charity. The ICE adventure electric assist trike will allow Peter to keep moving long before the MSA causes him to be immobile and wheelchair dependant.

Please consider helping me to help Peter to continue to enjoy his life and prolong his fight against MSA and indirectly help the MSA trust.
