My name is Sharon i am firstly a mum but also a student nurse who has recently returned to university to realize a life long dream of becoming a nurse.I have been given the opportunity to travel to rural Thailand for one of my practical placements, which i am self funding, flights, accommodation etc.Whilst i am in Thailand i would like to help a local children's charity (free hospital) by supplying them with stationary, educational supplies and art equipment. Thailand's health system is very different from the UK especially in rural communities where access to affordable health care ! yes affordable! Is limited .As a mother of a disabled child who has spent many hours supporting a child through some difficult procedures, i know at first hand the importance of diverting a child's focus away from the situation through the media of art and play, sadly many medical projects can only offer basic care!! this is why i am asking my lovely friends to help out ! just £5.00 will buy a set of paints ! i have sourced a supplier of materials in Thailand as logistically i would be unable to take items manually.
