I've raised £200 to Help to buy plants and shrubs for a Sensory Dementia Garden

I am fundraising to help buy lots of sensory plants for the new garden at my mum's Dementia Nursing Home.
The nursing home have kindly developed the garden as a means of helping residents suffering from Alzheimer's and other forms of Dementia to access the outside environment.
Many of the residents at this Nursing Home never leave the building so having a safe and pleasant area where they can sit, walk around and enjoy the sensory benefits of plants and watch the birds is hugely important to their physical and mental wellbeing.
I would like to help buy lots of sensory plants and flowers so that we can fill the garden planters with highly scented colourful plants, shrubs and herbs and provide a visually bright and vibrant all year round garden. We want to make the garden highly scented so that the residents can experience the smell and sight of the flowers and herbs.
We also plan to grow vegetables such as peas, peppers, tomatoes and have fruit trees. The chefs will also use the vegetables and herbs for cooking.
The residents will help with the planting and the watering of the garden but most of all it will be their space to enjoy all day every day.
My mum has Alzheimer's and already by being involved in the Dementia Garden we can see a difference in her day to day outlook and general wellbeing. Mum really looks forward to watering the plants and loves to be outdoors in the garden.
I do hope you can help with our fundraising and thank you for your support. 💚
