I've raised £500 to help rewild Marigold Nursing Home and make it a safe haven for residents, their families, wildlife, birds, bees and butterflies.

Marigold Nursing Home is in Leechmere in Sunderland and provides a range of care for residents, including 24/7 residential care, elderly care, end of life care, respite care and general nursing care, as well as specialising in care for those with dementia.
Our mum Jenny is a resident in Marigold and along with her fellow residents really benefits from the garden area.
At the moment the garden is indeed of a little help, and we are fundraising to help "rewild" and restore the space to benefit wildlife, birds and also give the residents and their families a safe area to plant up a small fruit tree orchard, create an area for wildflowers and grasses to help pollinators such as bees and Butterflies.
We would also like to raise funds to build two small raised planters filled with sensory plants to and also to paint up the perimeter fence with bright nature themed murals - this will form part of a family garden event in July.
We are working with Climate Action North to help raise awareness of the benefits of rewilded spaces for nature, wildlife and also for wellbeing. A copy of their Rewilding Marigold blog is below.

We hope you can help us support Marigold, it's residents and families with this project and all donations are gratefully received.
Thank you
