Story

Sharon is a single mother of 2. She has various disabilities including diabetes and Aspergers as well as other mental health problems. Her sons also have disabilities

Because of her health problems Sharon finds working full time difficult, she has dedicated her life to bringing up her two sons.

Because of her health Sharon has fallen on hard times and is in danger of losing her home of the past 13 years.

Sharon spends her spare time raising funds for various charities by holding dog shows in Corby.

This year she has 3 dog shows organised, one for Corby Carnival which will fundraise for Wiccaweys Border Collie Rescue, One for Maplefields School and one for Corby Lions.

But Sharon would never think to ask for a penny for herself.

Sharon was unable to work because she was looking after her children so was unable to claim JSA or Income Support because she had no income at all she was unable to pay her rent, this has lead to arrears but she wasn't informed about this until the council took her to court for non payment. Sharon's Aspergers means that she has been unable to understand why she wasn't told about the arrears earlier. The council have said that it's not their job to inform her but her's to know about it. They also claim that she hasn't been keeping the housework up to date although as you can see from the photos the house is clean and tidy. At no time has Sharon's difficulties been taken in to account and she has not been offered any support from the council.

The council house she is living in also needs some work doing on it due to wear and tear including needing new internal doors, the original doors where heavy glass doors that have broken the frames. She also needs a new kitchen, fireplace, smoke detectors, garden fencing and other jobs doing around the house that the council haven't done due to lack of money.

Which as explained is though no fault of her own, she has been struggling to keep up with the rent on a zero income. Any left over money will be spent on home improvements that the council haven't completed. Including a new kitchen sink as the one in the house has faulty pipework and drains into the cupboard below and doors and door frames as the council want £1500 to replace these.

Any money raised will go to pay off Sharon's rent arrears and for home improvements.

I have personally paid some of Sharon's bills this month and in the past but I can't keep doing this as I have my own bills to pay.

Please don't let Sharon loose her home.

The council have said that they will be bringing in the bailiffs soon. Due to the stress Sharon's health is getting worse, she has been to the GP 4 times in two weeks because she is now having chest pains and her anxiety and depression medication has had to be put up to maximum.
