£2,010raised of £50,000 target by 38 supporters

Weʼve raised £2,010 to fund Stem Cell treatment for Shaun Moore who has Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS).

    Tamworth, United Kingdom
Funded on Sunday, 17th September 2017

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Anyone who knows my brother Shaun will know that he would do anything to help others. Now it is our turn to help him. Shaun is far too proud to ask anyone for help, so I am putting this out there for him.

After more than 2 years of tests, Shaun was finally diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in June 2016. At this point the NHS gave up on Shaun and effectively left him to rot.

Shaun has worked a manual job his entire adult life. He has also played hockey since school and has been a keen snowboarder for the past 20 years. Shaun can no longer do ANY of these things. In fact he now struggles to even walk. Everything that was a passion in his life has been cruelly taken away from him.

There is currently no cure for PPMS and it is considered a minority illness. Equally there is no real treatment here in the UK either. There is however treatment elsewhere. His best option right now is stem cell treatment, but he will have to seek this outside of the UK. Whilst this treatment cannot reverse Shaun's current physical state, it can prevent it from getting worse, so as he continues to deteriorate month by month, time is both critical and precious.

Shaun currently has two choices for treatment - Russia or Mexico. Both have excellent success rates, but both are very expensive. It's shocking that these are his only options right now and as he has had to give up work, seem so very far out of reach.

I hate seeing my brother in such a terrible physical state. I hate seeing him so frustrated and angry that he has effectively been abandoned by the NHS. I hate that him being able to get any hope of treatment all comes down to cash.

I will post the full story of Shaun's journey in chunks, as we are limited on number of words. It will provide much more detail on his fight for a diagnosis and also what exactly the stem cell treatment consists of and how it can help him.

Please help Shaun. Any donation will mean the world to him.
