Story

Cook with DadFirstly my aim is to teach the local community how to prepare and cook meals for the family on a budget. With current times being so hard for people I aim to incorporate many aspects of their current lives. By this I mean many people are turning to the likes of food banks and eco shops. Many of these people then struggle with ideas of how to create filling meals with the ingredients that they have.
Once this has been achieved I wish to extend my reach to the wider community of Middlesbrough. As a resident of the Saltersgill area I wish to start with my own local community here in saltersgill. My business is about teaching people within the community. I will be the company official with the view of one day creating jobs from other people to deliver these teaching classes to a wider audience. My target audience is families within the community and teaching and helping them to create meals for their families.Within my research I have found that within the teeside area there is over 30 eco shops with an increased user base.(UCA eco shop) pre covid experienced 25 visitors a week. Now has over 60 visits a week. Based on an area of Middlesbrough containing 7200 people. 69% are below the poverty line with 43% of them being working families. in Middlesbrough alone 30000 children are below the poverty line with again many being from working families. The company and its structure currently consists of myself with a view of being able to employ more people at a later date.I will be offering cooking classes to people and families across my community with the aim to use eco shops as a point of reference for families. So I would like to start my teaching classes in the area that there is an eco shop.
The classes will be free for anyone to attend them the ingredients that they have used will be available for purchase from the eco shop based where I will be teaching.
I plan to advertise within my community and have this be a free activity.
