Story
As I’m sure you are all aware my dad, Shawn passed away in the early hours of Friday 3rd July after a long battle with a rare liver disorder and also bile duct cancer.
Those of you who knew Shawn while he was going through this know how hard he fought both conditions trying hard not to the them affect his everyday life, but eventually he had to slow down and take things more slowly at home.
After a liver transplant which went very well and gave dad a new lease of life, dad eventually recieved the dreaded news that the cancer had taken hold and that he only had a matter of weeks left with us, this news hit him very hard, but true to his character, dad did his very best to deal with things in his in his own special way.
It was at this point we had our first dealings with the Cancer Support Charity and I have to say they proved an absolute lifeline to both my dad and his partner giving advice, organising the things dad needed to help him during his last few weeks, explaining everything and offering a supportive shoulder to cry on when needed, which it was. They were available any time, day or night and at a moments notice, what ever we needed, when ever we needed it. Their kindness and support made such a huge difference to us all during this horrible time.
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.
