I've raised £2000 to help to fund child mental health services and pastoral care within our primary school for the benefit of the children and wider community.

Shaw Wood Academy - Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge
School budgets around the country are continuing to be cut. This is causing problems for schools in the delivery of wider services to support the children in our care. Shaw Wood Academy takes the education of our children very seriously but are also aware of other wider issues around children which sometimes need to be addressed to ensure our children can reach their full potential.
Shaw Wood staff have decided that they want to do something about the budget cuts to ensure there is no impact on our children and some staff have signed up to have a go at the Yorkshire Three Peak challenge. The challenge is to complete the three highest peaks in Yorkshire in one day. The challenge day will be in the Easter holidays.
All the money raised will go towards mental health services and pastoral care for the children in Shaw Wood Academy to help ensure we are able to continue provide the high level of care for our children.
6 of the staff that have agreed to do the challenge did their first training day during the October half term on 30/10/18 to train on the Inglebrough peak, which is one of the peaks in the challenge. This peak was completed in around 4 hours and 50 minutes which gives you an idea of the challenge ahead for some of us.
We will keep you up to date with our training and plans for the walk and hope that you can support our cause.
Thank you.
