I've raised £2000 to Honour Shay. Shay forever!

Shay Patten Walker. They/Them.
Shay is the purest form of light that has ever walked this earth. - Queeraxtivist
On Wednesday 9th Feb, I got a message that made my heart stop. How can they be gone? Not Shay, I kept saying, not them. My heart shattered. I have been through some things over the years...but I can tell you honestly, this news knocked me sideways. Shay was a little sibling to me, I still can't believe they are gone. I know I am not the only one struggling with this news, day by day, with each new picture, each new post, it is clear just how much Shay enriched the lives of others and that their loss has been felt across the entire community. 'Shay' know that we will NEVER stop saying your name.
It would have been Shay's 24th birthday. One of Shay's gifts was that they made everyone feel seen, appreciated and welcome in their presence. Shay always supported the community any way they could, so it's time that we come together to give back to Shay!
For their birthday present, I want to dedicate an award in their name 'The Shay Patten Walker Award" that will be granted to help other Black Trans/ Non-Binary and Disabled people access the care they need. Because Shay was always passionate about helping trans people in need, especially minorities with a minority.
Due to systematic transphobia and discrimination, it can be hard for trans and non-binary people to get the care that they need. With the added marginalisation; Black & POC have a harder time getting their fundraiser off the ground. - Shay @notsosecretlyshay
Shay's life can not be in vain. I promise you, I will do everything in my power to let their light shine on!
I am doing David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge; I will lift 48,000kg in 48hours in memory of Shay. I will be pushing myself beyond my limits in order to raise the funds. This means more to me than any fundraiser I have ever done. Because Shay means the world to me, they deserve to be remembered! For today + forevermore! Head over to @Cairo_Leon, for live updates.

People ask me why I wear it so much. Simple Answer. Empowerment. it makes me feel strong and recognised because when I was growing up I didn't think it was possible to be black and queer. There are so many narratives where you were told you have to choose. That's not true, you do not have to leave one identity, culture or community for another.- Shay @notsosecretlyshay
Thank you for taking the time to listen, Thank you for the Love & Light. <3
