We are trying to fund the process for me and my husband to adopt my 7 month old niece Luna in Wisconsin. We have already made contacts with solicitors here and lawyers in America as well as social work on both sides. My niece is currently in foster care and has been from birth due to my sister, her husband and other two children, Harmony and Skyler, being in and out of homelessness. This is where the complexity of the situation lies as she is in foster care and in two months she will be adopted out to strangers if we don't do something now. My sister is currently in a homeless state gain so the chances of her getting her daughter back are slim to none. Unfortunately, we as a family here in Scotland only have so much money to put into making this happen before we affect our own living situations which wouldn't help anyone. We have sold things and scraped together everything we have to put towards this but it is nowhere near enough to pay the lawyers fees and also the trip out there to process the adoption. My sister and her husband aren't perfect and the best decisions haven't been made throughout the 8 years my sister has lived in America but they don't deserve to never see their child again. They want for us to adopt Luna so that they can all move over to Scotland and be a family together again, so we all can be a family again, to get the support from family they just don't have over there. Especially since my brother-in-laws father passed away a few years ago. This is a very real and desperate situation and I am willing to do anything to keep my family together. My ultimate goal would be to get them all over here sooner rather than later........but for now, LUNA is our main priority! She is the one in danger of never seeing her family again. I am asking you to please please please give what you can.......anything at all to help keep my family together........ as there is nothing more important in life than the ones we love. Thank you.
