£29,376raised of £50,000 target by 181 supporters

Weʼre raising £50,000 to ease the burden on females as young as 7 years old who have to walk miles in the blazing heat to transport water in order to survive.

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Wells on Wheels

Latest update:

Women still carry most of the world’s water . They spend considerable time supplying water to their households .

Let's ease the burden on our mothers, sisters and daughters .

Women in rural regions of India walk an average of 1-2 miles a day, carrying water on their heads. The weight over time leads to chronic neck and back pain, as well as musculoskeletal disorders leading to complications during childbirth. Women may be pregnant or carry a baby on their back in addition to their load.

We can make their days easier .

The rolling solution / The Waterwheel, designed by Wello, is a large, round water drum that is fitted with handles so it can be rolled along the ground with ease. These round containers enable water collectors to roll liquid from wells rather than carry it on their heads. It can hold up to five times more water than a single bucket. Learn More

The physical and health burdens of water collection trap families in a vicious cycle of poverty – it is also a time-consuming task . Water is heavy. A traditional container equals a standard airline checked bag.

#letsroll

I have a team on the ground in India that will be following instruction to ensure that the wheels are reaching the homes of those that need it most. Needs are being assessed and we have a list of homes that will be receiving water wheels as and when the donations start to come in.

My own company Digimax Dental, will be pledging a wheel for every new project. All proceeds from my book Instagram for Dentists will also be going towards funding Wells on Wheels.

“I set up Wells on Wheels to make an immediate difference to peoples lives. I know a wheel doesn't solve a bigger problem, but I do know that a little comfort can make all the difference to the lives of people who already have a lot of hardship.”
