I've raised £100 to Help support Mad Dog Street Project, a local Manchester charity providing food, clothes & signposting to the homeless of Manchester.

Its Silly season, so I'm doing something silly...a 500m swim in Tal-y-llyn, in Wales in mid December. 500m doesn't sound like alot, but in water of 5oC or less, its definitely a challenge!
I'd like to raise money to buy food and sundries to support a local Chorlton based community led initiative, Mad Dogs Street Project, as they do some great work supporting the homeless on the streets of Manchester by cooking up hot meals 5 days a week and handing them out, as well as clothes and sign posting people to other services were they can access help to try and get them off the streets, or a bed for the night. All this costs money, so a few pounds can really help provide the volunteers with ingredients needed to cook up some hot meals as well as sundries to deliver the food in. I've helped MDSP out over the last few years, both supplying veg for meals and driving for them and serving food, and seen the number of people sleeping rough on the streets increasing. Homelessness is a complex problem to solve, but short term it would be nice to give people a hot meal or too, especially in the winter cold.
