The Sophia Foundation, Kenya is one which is very close to our hearts. Our mission is to fight poverty and disease through advancing access to education for vulnerable children and improving livelihoods opportunities for widows in Nyakach, Kisumu County through a long-term, holistic approach which includes financial support for education, life skills, business start-ups, training and child protection.

We aim to meet the social needs of orphans and vulnerable children, whose lives remain trapped by poverty and HIV/AIDS in Kenya. Without help, they have to search for food and things to sell from rubbish dumps, leaving them at greater risk of disease and infections. We believe that if vulnerable children lives transformed and inspired, they will in turn transform their communities, Kenya and the World.

We appreciate many people can't give very much but even 50p would help provide a meal for a child in Pap Onditi, Kenya.

£4.20 would buy clean fresh water for a child for a week

£7 would feed a child in Kenya for a whole week.

£37 would buy a goat for a family, they could then breed from this goat and gradually provide an income for food.
