Story
Background:
In December 2021 Shelley Folkes (A&E nurse, single mum, power female, part hippy, loyal friend and total legend!) had a headache and was admitted to Hereford Hospital.

During this time Shellsbells was diagnosed with a high grade frontal brain tumour. This has meant huge changes and a huge financial burden. One of the first thing Shells did was….. ‘Set up a fund raiser for the Brain Tumour Charity’… always a nurse and mum caring for others before thinking of herself.
Shelletron works incredibly hard looking after her two beautiful smart and caring girls, working as an A&E nurse in Hereford and running her own clinic. The diagnosis and treatment has meant stopping working, stopping driving (for at least two years) and travelling backwards and forwards to Birmingham, Cheltenham and Hereford without a car for treatment; which has huge financial burdens on top of not working during this time.

The ask?
Many of you will know Shells already and want to help directly and any donations large or small are hugely welcome! I also understand that you may not be in the position to give directly and so all I ask is that you share this widely and post pictures, stories and memories of Shelley on this page!
Whats happened so far?
Within short weeks of diagnosis the amazing team at QEH in Birmingham performed an urgent Awake Craniotomy (click link to video) to remove as much of the tumour as possible.

Now Shelley is facing 6.5 weeks of daily Radiotherapy and then months of Chemotherapy in the hope of preventing the tumour coming back for as long as possible. During this time Shelley will not be able to work and so money will be incredibly tight.
