Story
Crowdfunfing for my sister, this is her story:
I was born with Microtia, in Zimbabwe. Microtia essentially means that the outer ear wasn't developed, this obviously means I cannot hear through my left ear and there a very visible deformity, which also leads my face to be "pulled" somewhat to the left. I was bullied almost continuously throughout nursery and primary school, I caught a lucky break when my family moved to the UAE where surprisingly people are a lot more accepting And not as judgemental. Growing up there, finishing school, starting my first jobs, I even forgot there was something different about me. At the age of 21, I moved back home and was instantly brought back to reality while job hunting. Being a third world, developing country, many many people are still narrow minded and still feel that customer facing roles require normal looking people, with no tattoos or piercings, neat hair And no obvious deformities. Please don't get me wrong, this is not how every person thinks by any means.
Anyway as life happens, I am now 24, engaged and expecting my first child. Its still not known whether my child has microtia or not(not that it matters to us).
Having not worked full time in 3 years, in a country without our own currency I'm appealing for help to give my princess the world. This money will go towards the cot(US $250), the travel system(US $450), feeding supplies(US $95) and of course clothes and birthing(US $800). I put some prices there just to give you an idea of what we're dealing with.
If you want help go ahead. If you don't, that's cool too.
If you have questions let me know :)
