Story

Students come to Shine because they find mainstream education difficult for a number of reasons.

This past year we have helped young people in Luton who have needed support with: being at risk of child sexual exploitation, ADHD, alcohol, anger management, depression, social anxiety and selective mutism.

We have supported several students so that they can go back to school, seen students' academic and social abilities improve and ....

We are hoping to revamp the centre to ensure our returning students and new comers will have a safe place to learn, gain confidence and gather the skills and strategies they need to return to mainstream education.

£500 on paint which has been discounted by B&Q

£1200 on labour

£5000 on new computers

£1200 on heaters

We have always prided ourselves on providing a place that is warm, welcoming, and most importantly clean and functional for our students and staff. We have been running for 6 years and the centre is now in need of regeneration. Due to Covid, this has been delayed.

We recognise our students deserve the best and want to be able to provide a presentable place with all the equipment they need to learn. We are a not for profit organisation therefore we want to ask the community to make contributions to help us make the centre a place where young people want to come and thrive.

We are asking for £5000 so that we can repaint the whole centre, buy new heaters that are more cost effective and efficient, purchase furniture and equipment for the new academic year.
