✨🎄 SHINE A LIGHT THIS CHRISTMAS ✨🎄

A lot of us have had the experience of a joyful and loving Christmas.

What a blessing that is; wrapped pressies, filled stockings, turkey dinners, family games, Home Alone trilogy on repeat.

On a recent Zoom meeting for local youth rap group Muzic Matterz the subject of Christmas came up and we discussed the fact that there are many people out there who are isolated depressed, hungry and alone this time of year. These super talented up and coming young rappers were instantly hit by a wave of awareness, inspiration and courage as they decided in that moment to make a difference for other peoples lives this Christmas. These switched on teenagers came up with an incredible idea to produce a song and music video that creates awareness about homelessness and poverty in our country.

The ’Shine A Light’ song and music video productions where highly motivating yet emotional experiences as the young rap artists by writing lyrical stories about real life people truly felt what it would be like to be in the shoes of those who are freezing on our streets right now or unable to buy their children even basic presents this Christmas. The iconic Newry variety market location at night time created the perfect atmosphere to film our music video; the eerie silence, isolation and freezing weather of the location reminding us there are human beings out there right now suffering on their own with nowhere to call home.

Through the lad’s passion, commitment and work ethic the last month we are now able to release our content and raise awareness about the people who really need our help this time of year. We are teaming up with local charities Caring Coins and the Simon Community to help bring a wee spark of happiness into those peoples lives who need us this Christmas.
